Autumn Food Festival Returns With Record Number of Stalls

The autumn food festival returns to the town square this weekend with a record number of stalls, live cooking demonstrations and family activities. Visitors will be able to taste dishes from local restaurants, bakeries and street-food traders, and many producers will sell cheese, bread, preserves and seasonal vegetables grown nearby. Organisers said the festival has grown steadily because it gives small food businesses a chance to reach new customers without the cost of a permanent shop. This year, a new area will focus on food waste, with chefs showing how leftovers can be turned into simple and tasty meals. There will also be a children’s cookery tent, where young visitors can learn basic skills in a safe and supervised setting. Entry remains free, although some workshops need advance booking. Local transport will run extra services, and visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible.
