School Sports Day Returns With New Team Events
The annual school sports day has returned with new team events, giving children of all abilities a chance to take part, cheer for friends and enjoy a day outdoors. Alongside traditional races, pupils tried relay challenges, obstacle courses and team games designed to reward cooperation rather than speed alone. Teachers said the changes were made so that every child could contribute, whether through running, throwing, counting points or encouraging teammates. Parents and carers filled the sidelines, and older pupils helped to organise events and look after younger children. The school also used the day to raise money for new sports equipment, with a cake stall and a raffle run by volunteers. Staff said the best part of the day was seeing children support each other, try something new and leave with smiles, regardless of which team finished first.
